Genoskin Expands Access to Primary Human Mast Cells Across North America

Genoskin is pleased to announce that its primary human mast cells will now be available to customers in North America, marking a key milestone in the company’s commercial development. This launch gives pharmaceutical and biotechnology researchers faster and more direct access to predictive, human-relevant immune cells for drug testing and safety assessment.

This new availability responds to growing demand for human primary mast cells across allergy, immunology, immunotoxicology, inflammation, and immune safety research. It also strengthens Genoskin’s ability to support North American researchers with high-quality human-derived mast cells and scientific expertise designed to help generate more translational preclinical data.

Meeting Growing Demand for Human-Relevant Mast Cell Models

Mast cells are central regulators of human immunity and inflammation. While historically associated with allergic responses, they are now recognized as key contributors to inflammation, hypersensitivity, fibrosis, wound healing, tissue remodeling, and immune-related adverse events.

As researchers increasingly adopt New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and seek alternatives to conventional animal models or immortalized cell lines, human primary mast cells provide a valuable tool to better study immune activation, cytokine release, degranulation, hypersensitivity risk, and inflammatory responses during preclinical development.

Faster Access for North American Based Research Teams

By making primary human mast cells available in North America, Genoskin aims to provide North American customers with faster access, improved supply continuity, and more responsive support. This local availability is designed to reduce delivery timelines, and make it easier for research teams to integrate high-quality mast cells into their existing workflows.

This initiative is supported by Genoskin’s expanded Salem, Massachusetts, operations, which will progressively enable local production of primary human mast cells and complement the company’s existing manufacturing capabilities in France.

High-Quality Primary Human Mast Cells for Translational Research

Genoskin’s mast cells are produced from blood-derived CD34+ progenitors using a standardized workflow. They are validated through phenotypic and functional quality control to confirm mature mast cell identity and functionality across multiple receptors.

The cells maintain high viability after shipment and recovery culture, supporting their use as ready-to-integrate research products across international sites.

By giving researchers access to human-derived mast cells, Genoskin helps generate data that may better reflect human biology compared to conventional immortalized cell lines or non-human models.
