topical & transdermal services
Innovative efficacy & safety studies
A new approach to claim substantiation
Without harming humans or animals

Genoskin provides topical and transdermal testing services that generate robust, human-relevant data directly on live human skin. Combining advanced ex vivo skin platforms with scientific expertise and analytical tools, we support the evaluation of compounds, ingredients, formulations, and finished products for a broad range of applications. Our services enable the study of skin responses in a biologically relevant setting, delivering high-quality data for efficacy and safety assessment.

Reproducible
Genoskin’s human skin models are standardized and provide a reliable alternative to animal testing.

Efficacy & safety
Our skin platforms are suitable for a wide range of compounds requiring topical, systemic or intradermal administration, e.g. fillers.

Testing
Our platforms enable testing of your compound across multiple donors, capturing the diversity of your target population and the broader human population.

Platform
We provide a variety of assays to assess product-related responses in human skin models.
Innovative Efficacy and Safety Studies for Ingredients and Formulations
Test your compounds on live human skin
When it comes to claim substantiation and topical or transdermal development, NativeSkin® is a highly relevant platform for generating robust human skin data. Produced from real, live human skin, this immunocompetent ex vivo model is maintained viable for 7 days using our patented technology, enabling the evaluation of compounds, ingredients, and finished formulations directly on biologically relevant human tissue. Its extended viability makes it well suited for repeated topical application and transdermal delivery studies, as well as longitudinal analysis of skin responses over time. Depending on your study objectives, a wide range of efficacy and safety readouts can be assessed, including histology, biomarker expression, cytokine release, irritation, barrier function, and penetration analysis.

Study Efficacy Across Multiple Donors
Incorporate donor diversity for more representative data
Our human data generation platforms are developed exclusively from donated human skin, making it possible to evaluate compounds across multiple donors and better reflect the diversity of the human population or your consumer group. To strengthen data quality and representativeness, our studies are performed with several technical replicates for each condition and across multiple skin donors. This design captures both experimental reproducibility and the natural biological variability between donors, resulting in more robust, relevant, and human-representative data.
Claim Substantiation
A crucial element in cosmetic marketing

While cosmetic products are not subject to mandatory pre-market approval, they must still comply with applicable regulations. Claim substantiation is essential to support product positioning, help consumers make informed choices, and ensure trust in product communication. End users are increasingly requiring their cosmetic product claims to be backed by scientifically sound, reliable and reproducible evidence. Genoskin will help you gain that competitive advantage thanks to robust, well-designed studies.
A Reliable Alternative to Animal Testing
An animal-free & human-relevant approach

Regulation is increasingly favoring New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and other human-relevant, non-animal testing strategies.

In Europe
The EU has been a major driver of non-animal testing adoption, with a ban on cosmetic animal testing and the marketing of animal-tested cosmetic products. The proposed European Biotech Act further supports innovation in advanced human-based technologies and other human-relevant testing approaches.

In the US
In the U.S., the FDA Modernization Act 2.0 and the FDA’s latest roadmap support the adoption of validated non-animal methods, reflecting a broader shift toward modernizing regulatory frameworks and reducing reliance on animal testing.
Because animal skin differs significantly from human skin, Genoskin’s human-derived platforms offer an ethical alternative and generate data that are more relevant to human responses.
